For his new album, rapper SCH opens “Giulio”, a pop-up restaurant to taste cannelloni

The Marseille rapper gave a preview of his “JVLIVS Prequel: Giulio” to some fans.

This is definitely the most anticipated music release this week. The rapper SCH unveils his 6th album on Friday May 31: JVLIVS Prequel: Giulio. This is the third part of a trilogy around a mafia character, a universe very inspired by Italian-American gangster films.

To immerse himself in this universe and offer an experience to fans, the Marseille rapper organized a preview listening session for certain fans. They were invited, at the end of May, to a pop-up restaurant not far from Place de la Bastille. The theme: the Italian mafia.

At the start of this original marketing operation, there is this – cult – scene in the first part of the Godfather by Francis Ford Coppola: Don Corleone’s driver is executed in his car, there is food in the back seat. We then hear this reply: “Leave him gun, take the cannelloni“. That’s the idea at Giulioat lunchtime: at the entrance to this ephemeral establishment, smartphones are confiscated before sitting around a checkered tablecloth and a little Italian music.

“We come to listen to SCH in the atmosphere of the album, with the restaurant and everything that goes with it, the waiters, the tables and chairs… Everything is in the atmosphere. We’re going to eat some cannelloni and we’ll see if it’s good!“, rejoice these music-loving gourmets.

Seated at the table, Cédrick Lohou, from the Ombres agency, organizer of the event, savors: “It is a restaurant that is passed down by the Don to Giulio. We are in all these mafia, cinematographic references”he explains, as the famous cannelloni arrive. “It’s Giulio’s mom’s recipe, Rosa.”specifies Cédrick Lohou.

The album finally starts on the speakers: gangster references, punchlines… “Verdict: it’s a yes!“, comes out a fan with a smile. “I had a good time, but there was still some noise. People are talking and you can’t hear everything… But the cannelloni are very good, I’m pleasantly surprised!“, laughs another.
