From 8 p.m., only pedestrians and people with reduced mobility will have access to the bridge, which will be closed for motorists and cyclists.
However, access will be maintained for emergency services, the Jacques-Cartier and Champlain Bridges company said in a press release.
To ensure safety during the fireworks, it will be forbidden to smoke for people circulating on the bridge. However, specific areas will be designated for smokers.
Quebecers will also be able to enjoy fireworks in Montreal eight times between July 2 and August 3. Beginning with the theme “I Remember” on Saturday, the bonfires will feature a different country each time thereafter.
