We have pierced the thousand-year-old secret of the Egyptians, and discovered the recipe that allowed them to preserve the bodies. The analysis of pottery, found on the site of Saqqarah, makes it possible to know more.

Today, the mystery of embalming is being clarified. Seven years ago, 13 meters underground, Egyptologists discovered a workshop that was used for mummification. Some essences came from very far away
The residues, as well as the instructions on the pottery, are analyzed for three years by a team of specialists. First surprise: some of the species used came from very far away, particularly from Southeast Asia. Another discovery: there were several recipes, some for the head, others very subtle for the body. The purpose of embalming was to allow the deceased to arrive intact in the afterlife. Thanks to these recipes, they have in any case gone through 2,500 years of history.
