DIRECT. Follow Thomas Pesquet’s first press conference since his return to Earth

Three days after returning to Earth, Thomas Pesquet will return for the first time to his more than six months spent aboard the International Space Station (ISS). The French astronaut participates in a press conference, Friday 12 November, from 10:15 a.m., organized by the Agency European Space Agency (ESA). He will return in particular to the main experiments carried out as part of the Alpha mission. Follow our live.

Thomas Pesquet is doing well. A few hours after his return to Earth, the French astronaut assured that he was going “very well”. “We get used to it very, very quickly”, he assured, while not saying himself ready to “run a 100 m”, said the French astronaut on Tuesday evening on the tarmac at Cologne airport (Germany).

A period of fitness. Thomas Pesquet will benefit from a fitness program to regain his full physical capacities. Long stays in space have the particularity of causing osteoporosis much faster than on Earth.

Objective moon ? After this long stay aboard the ISS, the astronaut first hears “take a little time” for him. Thomas Pesquet, however, did not deny his interest in a possible mission to the Moon. “We are explorers”, he stressed, on his arrival in Cologne.
