Lawyer Richard Dubé, criminal lawyer in Quebec for nearly 40 years and co-author of the television series Indefensibledied suddenly last Saturday.
It was the audiovisual and digital production house Pixcom which announced the sad news in a press release released late Sunday evening.
Pixom recalled that Me Dubé was also the creator ofIndefensiblea daily series broadcast on the TVA network and co-written and produced by his partner, Izabel Chevrier.
“Richard was an exceptional person whom we considered a friend. He was unifying, daring, creative and he always managed to surprise us. He discovered with passion the world of actors and television and knew how to be present for everyone, at each stage. We will miss his passion and creativity, but it is his presence in our lives that will leave the biggest void,” declared Pixcom president Nicola Merola and actor and animator Charles Lafortune, also vice-president of content and creation of Pixcom.
Member of the Quebec Bar since 1984 and well-known litigator, Mr.e Dubé has acted as defense in numerous trials, including some for murder, fraud and drug trafficking. Me Dubé was also registered in 2013 as duty counsel at the International Criminal Court in the Netherlands, reports Pixcom. He also acted, from 2003 to 2009, as lead counsel before the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda based in Arusha, Tanzania. He represented a Rwandan accused of genocide and crimes against humanity.

Me Dubé had his first participation in a television adventure when he analyzed on camera a dark murder case in Abitibi for the documentary Tailor-made murderers.
