It is a monument of French television who has left us: Jean-Pierre Pernaut died on Wednesday March 2, 2022 at the age of 71, after a battle against cancer. With more than 30 years of service as a presenter of the 1 p.m. news on TF1, he represented the channel all by himself; the house stars paid tribute to him. He had left the antenna in December 2020 and, since then, he has been concentrating on his illness, surrounded by his family … large!
His two youngest children, Lou (20) and Tom (19), were notably present during his last diary. Stars of Tik Tok, the two teenagers like to put their lives on stage and have more than 898,000 subscribers for the young girl and nearly 300,000 for her little brother. Very popular, they are very followed and appreciated.
The young Lou, who had announced that she had quit smoking after her dad’s cancer, also reacted on her Tik Tok account explaining that they “stay with family for now“. His little brother Tom, meanwhile, remained silent. Both have nevertheless received hundreds of messages of support. They must now be close to their mother, the ex-Miss France turned actress Nathalie Marquay, whose journalist shared life since 2002.
The couple, in love and happy to the end, had met during the Miss France 2002 ceremony, when both were part of the jury. At the time, the young woman does not know the presenter of the JT, however, their story will become beautiful. “You will laugh but I did not know Jean-Pierre Pernaut. I lived a lot in the islands and I didn’t watch the 1 p.m. […] As soon as I saw him, I knew he would be the man of my life“, she said to Non Stop People.
But before his couple with Nathalie Marquay, Jean-Pierre Pernaut had already had two children from a first union with Dominique Bonnet. Very discreet, it has never appeared in the media. However, at the time of her marriage to Jean-Pierre Pernaut, she gave birth to their two children, Julia, born in 1978 and Olivier, in 1981.
Even if he remained rather discreet about them, Jean-Pierre Pernaut was very proud of them and of the family they had built themselves. “Julia, my eldest, is a gynecologist in Amiens. She has two daughters, Iris and Eléa. With Léo, Olivier’s son, I am three times a grandfather“, he said. An eldest son with whom he had found passions in common and to whom he was very close.
“We both share a passion for motor racing, we have been faithful to the Andros Trophy on ice for eleven years. Our new hobby: piloting a drone, with which we make magnificent videos of the house“he revealed to Paris Match. The blended family also got along very well: Lou Pernaut and Nathalie Marquay had celebrated Olivier’s 40th birthday on August 30th. This is in particular the father of Leo, the grandson of Jean-Pierre appeared at his side during his last JT. He was grandfather in total three times (of Iris as well as Elea).
