Tours Volley Ball secures a place in the CEV European Cup final

The Tours Volley Ball offers itself a new European final. In the return semi-final last night, TVB beat Poland’s Belchatow 3 sets to 1 (25-21, 25-20, 21-25, 25-20) in a Grenon room filled to the brim with 3,200 supporters. Despite the absence of Kevin Tillie, sick, the Tours were often impressive and knew how to react after the Poles came back to 2 sets to 1. “Evenings like this are what we want to offer to the Touraine public, to Touraine, to our region“explains the president of the club, Bruno Poilpré. “We are a good European club and we proved it again tonight. It’s a collective work: there are the players, of course, who are fantastic, but there is also a communion with the public and all the institutions who are there and support us. We are one and we are a dream team“.

The TVB made a clap with his public, to celebrate the victory before continuing with a lap of honor during which Dmytro Teryomenko carried the flag of his country, Ukraine. “It’s the dream night. I even have trouble finding my words, it’s so strong what we live“says the passer, Gary Chauvin, still amazed by the fervor of the public. We are not going to the final to lose. For sure we have a great Monza team to play. We have already played stronger before, but we will not have to rest on our laurels. We have a lot of work and we hope that the room will be full like that because the public, tonight, was really a seventh man“.

Pierre Derouillon makes the same analysis: “The public could have been crowned man of the match. Everyone did their feat tonight, at one time or another, but what prevailed was the team. The collective has never dropped and that’s huge” underlines the receiver-attacker of the TVB. “We have a great team this year. Now we all see what we are capable of and we did great things. Not to stop in the final. We have to go all out. I think everyone is already ready. We could play it now the final.

The Tours Volley Ball will face the Italians of Monza in the final, on March 16 and 23, with the return match at home.
