The world of cinema is in mourning. The actress Hélène de Saint-Père died on Wednesday May 4, 2022 at the age of 62, as reported by our colleagues from TéléLoisirs. If the name of the actress is not very familiar, you should however know that she was nevertheless a big name in the seventh art, she who started her career in the 1980s.
Hélène de Saint-Père had followed the Florent courses before joining the school of Amandiers de Nanterre, formerly directed by Patrice Chéreau and Pierre Romans. “These two years with them, in a small group because we were 19, were more than exciting. We made two films and played three plays under their direction in Avignon” had notably explained the actress when speaking of her training.
She then went on to perform at the Nanterre theater: “At that time the Amandiers theater was in full swing, we were in daily contact with the reality of the profession, it was not at all a classical school”.
It is from the 1990s that we find her on the small screen where she multiplies the projects. We were able to see her in “The judge is a woman”, “Joséphine”, “Cain”, “Alex Hugo” “The daughter of Monaco”, “Appearances”, or even “Profiling”.
Rewarded for her role in the film “A Mother’s Nightmare” broadcast on M6, Hélène de Saint-Père also starred in several autobiographical films under the leadership of Valeria Bruni-Tedeschi.
