It’s no secret: Cyril Hanouna doesn’t like La France insoumise very much. If he maintained cordial relations with Jean-Luc Mélenchon, Raquel Garrido and Alexis Corbière a few years ago, the big clash which opposed him to Louis Boyard in November 2021, and which cost him 3.5 million fine euros, got the better of this agreement. Since then, the host has been making a series of stray bullets against all the deputies of the LFI clan. This Monday, February 19, 2024, at the start of the program, tradition dictates, Cyril Hanouna did not hesitate to mock Louis Boyard’s intervention on a law campus, during which the young MP made a mistake by reversing two articles of the Constitution. A few minutes later, it was during a debate targeting the group’s leader Mathilde Panot that the tone rose with Gilles Verdez…
Indeed, Gilles Verdez is the only chronicler of Do not touch My TV to regularly defend the party of Jean-Luc Mélenchon. If he denies being “a friend” by Louis Boyard, Mathilde Panot, Raquel Garrido or Adrien Quatennens, he is however the only one who measures, nuances or reframes the words of his fellow columnists. But the words that the former editor-in-chief of Parisian holds can sometimes cause some problems for Cyril Hanouna, who refuses to hear them. Worse still, this Monday, the host cut him off by telling him that his friends wanted to fight with him: “Gilles Verdez, I have lots of friends of mine who want to hit him, so much so that they don’t like him” he assured, before quickly qualifying his remarks.
“People hate you!”
While Gilles Verdez took his producer at his word, and invited him to bring his friends so that they could “ridicule”Cyril Hanouna assured him that he would have one come in the coming days: “He is combative, afterwards, we will see when they are there” he laughed. The tone quickly rose afterwards, when Gilles Verdez wanted to corroborate the comments made by Mathilde Panot on the right to strike: “Gilles, you don’t know how I protect you. There are a number of people who want to punch you in the face, no but I swear to you. As soon as I see people in the street, I swear to you it’s true… I was in a restaurant yesterday, I was made very welcome, they said to me: If it had been Gilles Verdez , we would have kicked the shit out of him. I swear, people hate you !”
Comments which somewhat offended the journalist, before Cyril Hanouna drove the point home by involving his son Lino in the debate: “My son, he can’t fool you. He said to me the other day: I like him Gilles, but I would slap him.” Quickly, the comments shocked Internet users, and forced the host to return to his latest comments a few minutes later: “There are still puppets on Twitter who say: Gilles wants to hit a child. Neither my son wants to hit Gilles, nor Gilles wants to hit my son. They love each other! No, but it’s not possible for idiots like that. Gilles is a sweetheart!”
