Clint Eastwood still hasn’t put his camera away. With 80 films to his name at 91, the Eastwood legend is still on the move. Portrait of a movie monster, for the 20 Hours of Friday 12 November.
At 91, Clint Eastwood is still touring. As a nod to his debut, the actor is back in Cry Macho in the guise of an old man cowboy, lonely and silent. The film, delicate and touching, bears the Eastwood paste: that of a director recognized, even adored by his peers. “The most incredible thing about Clint Eastwood is that among all of us, he’s the most eclectic, he’s a chameleon”, says Steven Spielberg.
Clint Eastwood has brewed all genres. Social drama, western, road movie, sport, true story or melodrama, his filmography is impressive, and each of his films tells in its own way a story of America. “He is an outstanding storyteller, he knows how to tell and film a story admirably, and with him there is never a flash”, explains Guillaume Evin, author of Clint Eastwood, the last of the giants, published by Hugo Image.
