Charles III was officially proclaimed king on the morning of Saturday September 10. It is the beginning of a new era in Britain.

At noon sharp, Saturday September 10, from the balcony of the St. James’s Palace, London (United Kingdom), the news was proclaimed to the kingdom. “The Prince Charles, following the death of our beloved Queen, becomes our only rightful King, Charles III”says David White, King of Arms of the Order of the Garter. Outside, a crowd of spectators, sometimes from afar, witnessed this historic moment and sang the national anthem to the glory of the king.

The ceremony was broadcast live on television. Charles III paid tribute to his late mother. “My mother’s reign was unique in its duration, commitment and devotion”he said, thinking “deeply aware of [l’]great legacy” and “duties and heavy responsibilities of sovereignty”. He then took the oath and accepted his new duties. 41 cannon shots were fired for the new reign. In Parliament, the Prime Minister and MPs have pledged allegiance to the new King of England.
