Change of management at La Maison Simons

The Simons family will no longer run the 15 Simons clothing stores. Peter Simons announced on Tuesday that he was handing over the position of president and CEO of the company to Bernard Leblanc.

Mr. Leblanc was previously Executive Vice-President and Chief Corporate Officer. Mr. Simons will remain involved in the company founded in 1840 by John Simons in Quebec, as chief merchant and member of the family council and the advisory council. He and Richard Simons remain controlling shareholders, according to a statement released Tuesday.

The Quebec company states that it is in good financial condition, that it has succeeded in its digital shift, that it is “deploying its growth plan and can count on its automated processing center which gives it the agility required from the from the point of view of operations”.
