CF Montreal announced that it had acquired defender Raheem Edwards from the Los Angeles Galaxy on Monday in return for an amount of US$400,000 in general allocation in 2024.
“We are happy with Raheem’s return to Montreal, he who already knows the Club and the city well,” said the vice-president and head of sports management of CF Montreal, Olivier Renard, in a press release. We are proud to add another Canadian player who can strengthen our squad. »
Edwards played in 30 games for the Galaxy last season. He scored two goals in 1,875 minutes of play. He also played two League Cup matches and three United States Soccer Cup matches in 2023.
This is a second visit to Montreal for Edwards. The 28-year-old defender played 14 matches, scoring two goals, in 808 minutes of play with CF during the 2018 season.
Edwards won the MLS Cup in 2017 and two Canadian Championship titles, in 2016 and 2017.
