British Prime Minister Boris Johson presented his “apologies” and admitted to making an appearance at a rally in Downing Street Gardens in full lockdown, arguing that he then believed “implicitly” that it was a working meeting. In front of the deputies, he explained that he believed that the event respected the sanitary rules then in force, assuming the “responsibility” from “errors” that were committed.

Labor opposition leader Keir Starmer immediately called for his resignation. “His defense of saying he didn’t know he was at a party is so ridiculous it’s actually insulting to the British public.”Mr Starmer said during the weekly question-and-answer session. “Will he now have the decency to resign?”, he added, accusing the conservative leader of “lie like a tooth puller”.
