Even if she no longer occupies the ceremonial chair of First Lady of the country, Carla Bruni is still the subject of many attentions when she points to her creeper silhouette on the red carpet. And when it comes to striking a pose in front of the photographers, the former catwalk star never misses an opportunity to impress. So when the Cannes Film Festival comes around, Nicolas Sarkozy’s wife pulls out an evening dress and fine jewelry for generally highly commented stair climbs. And this year, for the 75th edition of the Festival, Giulia Sarkozy’s mother was no exception to the rule. Naomi Campbell’s great friend, present for the presentation of the Swedish film Triangle of Sadness directed by Ruben Östlund, unveiled a sublime lilac dress made by Céline. An evening outfit accessorized with jewelry from the Bulgari brand, of which Carla Bruni has often been the muse.
But if Carla Bruni was the attraction of this climb of the steps, she also committed a major blunder which did not go unnoticed. What even cause a small controversy. Indeed, arriving at the top of the stairs alongside Thierry Frémaux, general delegate of the Festival, the former First Lady took out her mobile phone to take a selfie with the director. Only problem, for three years now, the Cannes Film Festival has completely banned selfies on the Red Carpet as well as at the top of the steps. A ban that had probably forgotten the singer who puts all smiles on this selfie immortalized by photographers.
A few days later, the Franco-Italian obviously did not learn the lesson since she did not think to leave her cell phone in the locker room as she climbed the stairs for the second time at the festival. Nicolas Sarkozy’s wife accompanied her mother Marisa for the screening of her sister Valeria’s film “Les Amandiers”. And, again for the photographers who captured this new Cannes dumpling.
