During the Super Bowl halftime show led by Usher on Sunday, February 11, Beyoncé partly stole the show by broadcasting a commercial announcing the release of a new album. Baptized Renaissance: Act II, it is scheduled for March 29.
In the process, while the Super Bowl halftime was in full swing, Queen B unveiled two new songs, Texas Hold ’em And 16 Carriages. The first is very country and the second is more subtly, but both are very far from his last dance album Renaissancewith house accents, released in July 2022. Are these two new tracks produced by Raphael Saadiq a reliable indication of the content of his eighth studio album? Mystery. But as a comment on his Instagram post below points out, if Act II is a country exploration, it would be to better demonstrate what country owes to African-Americans, starting with the contribution of the banjo. Only a month and a half left to wait.
