Benjamin Castaldi in tears in Vivement dimanche: the host overwhelmed by the images

For the new number Roll on Sunday broadcast this November 14, 2021 on France 2, Yves Montand was in the spotlight! And to pay tribute to the actor and singer who died 30 years ago, Benjamin Castaldi was invited on the set of Michel Drucker. And for good reason, the host has rubbed shoulders with during a good part of his youth the sacred monster of cinema thanks to his long relationship with her grandmother Simone Signoret. Benjamin Castaldi also released a book a few months ago on their beautiful romance, entitled I loved you so much …: Montand and Signoret, a couple in history.

If he already knows everything about this legendary duo, Benjamin Castaldi was surprised to discover very special archive images. Indeed, Michel Drucker and his teams got their hands on videos they shot in 1994 in “La Roulotte”, the Parisian apartment of Simone Signoret and Yves Montand in which they lived together for 40 years. A place that the father of Simon Castaldi inevitably knew well, who was immediately plunged into his memories. Pictures of their home in Normandy were also unveiled, which were captured ten years after the disappearance of Benjamin Castaldi’s grandmother. And everything had remained: his waistcoat, his glasses, his famous typewriter …“commented Michel Drucker, making his upset guest cry.

It’s beautiful eh“, he still managed to articulate by wiping his tears with a handkerchief. And adding with a certain nostalgia:”I don’t know how you got these pictures but what is crazy is that the house has not moved. Somewhere, it’s still there, that’s good.
