Apple TV+ | The irresistible Eugene Levy, traveler in spite of himself

Eugene Levy is simply irresistible in the second season of the series Eugene Levy,vThe Reluctant Traveler featured on Apple TV+.

The star of the films American Pie and the series Welcome to Schitt’s Creek is not a great traveler, but he makes us discover, with humor, places as unusual as they are extraordinary in Europe, notably in Italy, France, Germany, Greece and Spain.

His European journey begins in the north of Sweden in Gammelstad, where he goes by boat to a region where there are more than 47 species of mosquitoes! He then heads to Scotland, the most moving episode, as he visits the very modest house in Glasgow where his mother lived before emigrating to Canada at 13.

He then leaves for France where he has a meeting with the actress Joan Collins who lives in Saint-Tropez, he is going to drink champagne, play pétanque, and oh be careful, he is going to taste oysters! In Germany he ventured into a spa treatment on the very luxurious island of Sylt, in Italy, where he enjoyed la dolce vita in Tuscany in a 12th century hamlet.e century, he goes truffle hunting and harvests.

In Spain, in Seville, for our greatest pleasure, he will be introduced to the pleasure of European football (soccer), and to the wild fans of the two Seville teams. He will even visit the 60,000-seat Benito Villamarin stadium, birthplace of Real Betis Balompié, where he meets the player Héctor Bellerín.

What we like about this series is the charm of Eugene Levy, 77, who steps out of his comfort zone and takes us to original places. He meets locals who make us love their region, and he sleeps in sublime hotels where we will certainly never go, like the Lily of the Valley hotel in Saint-Tropez, or the Alphonso XIII hotel in Seville. Travel is life, but it’s also very fun and educational in the company of Eugene Levy.
