BBD sporting director Claude Bergeaud retires after 30 years of pro basketball

It is a monument that is going away. Claude Bergeaud, the sports director of Boulazac Basket Dordogne, is leaving the club and professional life at the age of 62 to enjoy a well-deserved retirement, the club announced in a press release on Tuesday May 17. He will be replaced by Jérémy Sarre, his deputy since last summer, who will now lead the club’s sports project. An expected news, since he had been recruited last year precisely to prepare to take over smoothly.

Claude Bergeaud, it’s 30 years of career in professional basketball. He was the coach of the French men’s basketball team between 2003 and 2007. He arrived in 2017 at Boulazac Basket Dordogne, as a coach, and allowed the BBD to find the Pro A, then to play in a Cup final from France to Bercy the following year. He then became the club’s sporting director.
