Auger-Aliassime feels ready for new milestones

For the first time since mid-October, Félix Auger-Aliassime took advantage of a Sunday off. Or not quite. The Montrealer lent himself to a media availability that allowed him to come back to the best moments, until now, of his young and promising career.

For a little over three weeks, from Italy to Switzerland via Belgium, Auger-Aliassime was untouchable.

When he defeated the German Oscar Otte in the second round of the tournament in Florence, Italy, on October 13, for the first of 16 consecutive victories, the 22-year-old tennis player was then ranked 13th in the ATP rankings. On Monday morning, he will hold the sixth rung.

Above all, from November 13 to 20 in Turin, Italy, he will participate in the ATP Finals for the first time in his career, among the elite of world men’s tennis.

From his temporary quarters in Paris, where he will spend a few more days before heading to Turin on Wednesday, Auger-Aliassime reflected on his past experiences, including all his failures in the final which, at a certain point, made him feel To ask questions.

He was finally able to win a first tournament, last February in Rotterdam, and his triumphs at the Florence, Angers and Basel tournaments, to which are added a participation until the semi-final in Paris, Saturday, leave believe in Auger-Aliassime that he is capable of winning the ATP Finals and eventually reaching the number one spot in the world rankings.
