at 100 years old, she realizes her dream of seeing the sea again

It was his dream: to see the Atlantic Ocean again, to fill his lungs with sea air. At her side, the journalist who interviewed her for her 100th birthday, to whom she owes this trip. “I asked her if she still had a dream in her life, she replied: ‘I would love to see the Atlantic again'”says the newspaper journalist The mountain.

A long journey

The journey began at sunrise, departing from the Brive-la-Gaillarde nursing home (Nouvelle-Aquitaine). After a four-hour drive offered by the ambulance company, she returned to the sea. “It’s a great adventure and she’s very happy, it’s taking her out”, rejoices Murielle Vanneau, Marcelle’s granddaughter. For the occasion, Marcelle’s granddaughters and great-granddaughter accompanied her. The trip ends with the tasting of a platter of oysters facing the sea, a pleasure that Marcelle never thought she would be able to taste again.
