Armed assault in Montreal: a 30-year-old woman stabbed in Lachine

A woman was stabbed Saturday morning in the Lachine borough.

According to initial information from the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM), a 911 call was made around 11 a.m. concerning a woman with upper body injuries on Camille Street near Ouellette Avenue.

Upon arrival, police located a 30-year-old woman with stab wounds. The latter was conscious and was quickly taken care of by Urgence-Santé. The woman was transported to a hospital to treat her serious injuries, but she is said to be out of danger.

“According to the first information, she would have been the victim of an attack […] inside an apartment,” said Véronique Dubuc, spokesperson for the SPVM.

Shortly after their arrival, the police arrested a suspect, a 47-year-old man with a criminal record for various charges.

Investigators are in the direction to analyze the scene.

Two simultaneous events

While going to the scene of the attack, the police saw an individual throw an object through the window of a dwelling on rue Camille. It turned out to be a modified pellet gun. Quickly, a suspect in his forties was arrested.

“Other arrests are possibly to come,” said the spokesperson.

However, the two events are not related, said Ms.me Dubuc.
