Montreal police announced Wednesday that they have arrested three young suspects in their twenties in connection with an armed assault that occurred in mid-February in the Ahuntsic-Cartierville area. A firearm, ammunition and narcotics were seized during a search.
Samuel Danazarre, 23, Jackenley Louigène, 21, and Jessica Ochoa Leblanc, 27, were arrested on the morning of March 6, according to reports from the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM).
A search carried out after the fact, in one of the dwellings of these suspects, led to the seizure of “a firearm, ammunition, a cell phone, narcotics and other evidence”, according to investigators from the North Criminal Investigation Section, who were supported by the Tactical Intervention Group, as well as neighborhood stations 27 (Ahuntsic) and 39 (Montréal-Nord).
At this point, the three suspects, who appeared before a judge in the last few hours, each face charges of discharging a firearm, robbery and possession of narcotics for the purpose of do the traffic. “In the case of Samuel Danazarre, additional charges relating to firearms and non-compliance with probation and conditional conditions have also been laid,” says the SPVM.
The initial events in this case occurred on February 12, around 6 a.m. At this time, two men entered an apartment on Larose Avenue, before “violently assaulting” two other men who were inside with another woman.
According to the police account, the conflict would then have “moved outside the building located near the intersection with rue Fleury Est”.
Shots were then fired by one of the suspects towards one of the victims who was trying to flee, without however reaching him. On the spot, the investigators had notably identified several casings on the ground as well as a bullet impact on a residence. A criminal investigation was then launched.
