“Are you ruling out getting up?”, very tense exchange between Anne-Sophie Lapix and Emmanuel Macron on the news

He decided to speak out to the French, through Gilles Bouleau and
Anne-Sophie Lapix
, this Thursday, March 14, 2024. This decision follows the vote that took place on March 12 in the National Assembly. The deputies decided, by majority, to support Ukraine and give their approval to respect the agreement signed on February 16 by
Emmanuel Macron
and Volodymyr Zelensky, the Ukrainian president, to provide them with civil and military aid over the next ten years.

But how will this support be provided? How will the French be impacted? Whether financially or morally. Brigitte Macron’s companion tried to give all the answers to these questions in front of Gilles Bouleau and Anne-Sophie Lapix this Thursday, March 14.

And the journalist from France 2 did not hesitate to get to the heart of the matter. From her first intervention, she recalled: “Refusing to exclude the sending of Western troops to Ukraine, a few days later you called on the Europeans not to be cowardly, finally, you affirmed that there were no limits, no red lines, at French support for Kiev”.

Anne-Sophie Lapix vs Emmanuel Macron

Fact, Anne-Sophie Lapix asked the Head of State if she, as well as the French, had “well understood”. “Are you considering sending Western French troops to Ukraine?”she asked the President of the Republic again.

“Good evening and welcome”he replied at first before appearing annoyed and blurting out: “You’re sitting in front of me, are you standing? No. Are you ruling out getting up at the end of this interview? Of course you’re not going to rule it out”.

“We’re not even sure we’ll do it.”then replied the journalist from France 2, who did not let herself be dismantled. A response which visibly satisfied the Head of State. “There you go, while we are not sure of doing it”he continued before specifying: “but we are not in this situation today […] I make this comparison to explain what it is to not rule out these options, and there are reasons not to do so, and the position of just saying what you do.”. After this tense exchange, the two journalists and Brigitte Macron’s companion were able to resume the course of their interview, and once again discuss the future of France and Ukraine.
