Socialist mayor of Paris Anne Hidalgo calls for resignation “without delay” of Quentin Bataillon from his position as president of the commission of inquiry into TNT, she announced to the franceinfo political service on Wednesday April 3.
The Renaissance MP was invited this Tuesday on Cyril Hanouna’s show, whom he had interviewed as part of this same commission of inquiry. It was initiated by LFI deputies in the fall to shed light on the allocation of DTT frequencies, including those of C8 and CNews which are up for grabs this year.
“A real scandal”
This interview “is a real scandal”Anne Hidalgo is indignant. “Yes, democracy is in danger when the president of a commission of inquiry on TNT goes on the set of a television show with a convicted repeat offender host, to directly attack another host and the rapporteur of his own committee”. The mayor refers to the comments made by Quentin Bataillon at Cyril Hanouna’s house, where he attacked the“arrogant attitude” of the presenter of “Quotidien”, Yann Barthès, during his hearing before parliamentarians. Furthermore, over the course of the hearings, tensions arose between Quentin Bataillon and the commission’s rapporteur, LFI Aurélien Saintoul.
After his appearance in “Touche pas à mon poste”, Quentin Bataillon was called to order by the President of the National Assembly, Yaël Braun-Pivet, who recalls that the members of a commission of inquiry “must exercise discernment in their public expressions, in order to guarantee the credibility of the investigations”.
