“Izïa’s words deeply shocked me”, written, Sunday July 9, in a press release, spotted by France Bleu Nord, the LR mayor of Marcq-en-Barœul (North), Bernard Gérard. During a concert Thursday evening in Beaulieu-sur-Mer (Alpes-Maritimes), the singer imagined during her performance on stage how Emmanuel Macron could be publicly lynched by the spectators. The northern town hall plans to cancel the arrival of the singer on the occasion of a concert organized for the national holiday, Thursday, July 13.
A decision expected on Monday
“The coming to Marcq of this artist for a public concert, free and family, would be in contradiction with the values of gathering which prevail during our National Day”, advance Bernard Gérard who therefore plans to cancel the arrival of the singer. He explains that “a decision will be officially announced on Monday.”. His first deputy Loïc Cathelin also assures France Bleu Nord that he has received several calls from residents asking for the cancellation of the Izïa concert.
The deputy Renaissance du Nord Violette Spillebout, also an adviser to the European metropolis of Lille, of which Marcq-en-Barœul is a part, also expressed on Twitter on Sunday her opposition to the arrival of the daughter of Jacques Higelin. “I do not believe that the Marcquois want to legitimize such an offense”she wrote on the social network. “It is not an artistic performance, but a call for murder, which triggers an investigation for ‘public provocation to commit a crime or misdemeanour'”she recalls.
The singer has not yet explained her performance in Beaulieu-sur-Mer and has not reacted to the controversy she has generated on the right and within the presidential majority.
