An association offers vacations to sick children and their families. She managed to convince homeowners to lend their homes.

A week to relax at the foot of the Pyrenees, that’s where Marwane, his parents and his sisters found themselves. A year ago, Marwane was diagnosed with cancer, he is in remission after months in hospital. He needed a change of scenery. “It’s good to be with your family, to laugh. I live my life as if everything were starting from scratch”, rejoices the young man. For the whole family, it’s a new beginning. After this ordeal, we must rebuild ourselves. In this house which houses their reunion, everyone has their own room, there is the mountain at the end of the garden for walks, and a large living room for board games. Michelle and Jean-Pascal are the owners of this gîte.

Owners affected

Usually, they rent it for 550 euros a week, but Marwane’s story touched them, for them, it will be a gift. At the other end of France, in Normandy, Johanna also experienced health problems. This is how she had the idea of offering a breath of fresh air to the sick. Another association, called “parents-children” operates on the same principle. It brings together owners who agree to lend their homes to precarious families.explains Valérie Heurtel, present on the set of 13 Heures, Thursday January 4.
