(Belleville) The Belleville Senators won for the second time in as many nights against the Laval Rocket, this time by a score of 5-4 in overtime.
Jake Lucchini made the cut at 2:06 into the extra period, thanks to his second goal of the game.
Roby Jarventie had created the deadlock at 11:12 of the third period, also with his second goal of the match.
Egor Sokolov also scored for the Senators, who beat the Rocket 5-3 on Friday. Antoine Bibeau stopped 24 shots.
Madison Bowey had a goal and an assist for the Rocket, while Joël Teasdale, Mattias Norlinder and Brandon Gignac also got the ropes moving. Philippe Desrosiers made 24 saves.
The Senators opened the scoring midway through the first period courtesy of Sokolov, but the Rocket replied with three goals in 3:13 of play, including two goals in 11 seconds.
First Norlinder tied the game, then Bowey and Teasdale gave the Rocket a two-goal cushion.
After goals from Jarventie and Lucchini in the second period, Gignac restored the lead to the Rocket late in the period, on assists from Tory Dello and Gabriel Bourque.
But like in Friday’s game and in the first two periods, the Rocket couldn’t hold their lead.
