The family film Encanto Disney is leading the Thanksgiving holiday box office ball in the United States. On Wednesday, for its first full day in theaters, the film grossed 7.5 million at the box office.
House of Gucci (MGM), a Ridley Scott film starring Lady Gaga and Adam Driver and Al Pacino comes in second with $ 4.2 million in revenue, followed by Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City (Sony) which collects 2.5 million.
According to a Variety article published on Friday morning, one can expect revenues of between 35 and 40 million for Encanto over the five-day period of the US Thanksgiving holiday. Effect of the pandemic obliges, it is much less than the income of Frozen II in 2019 (123.7 million) or Ralph Breaks the internet in 2018 (84.6 million).
