There are still many fans of Jean-Jacques Goldman, despite the artist’s retirement. Groups paying tribute to him are flourishing, notably En Passant, which brings together three of his former musicians.

There are many people nostalgic for Jean-Jacques Goldman, and so are the tribute concerts. En Passant brings together several of the artist’s former musicians. The Goldman Legacy is sponsored by Michael Jones, his long-time accomplice. “I went to buy his records in Andorra, the 45 rpms, the 33 rpms… I learned them by heart. It’s all my youth”, says an enthusiastic fan. “It brings everyone together, in fact, his songs. So it feels good.”adds another.

A trio of former musicians brings their songs to life

In the group En Passant, we find Jeff Gautier, former drummer for Jean-Jacques Goldman in the 1980s, on stage and in the studio. Jean-Claude Givone, a former drummer, became a bassist. He was at Goldman’s concerts at the end of the 1980s. Christophe Nègre accompanied him until his farewell to the stage in 2004. This trio is happily reunited today. “We are here because we love each other a lot, because we love what we do. And we stayed very faithful to our thing, we don’t play backwards”explains the drummer.
