A suspicious fire occurred Sunday morning in a restaurant in the Ahuntsic-Cartierville borough in Montreal. An incendiary object was found there, but no suspect has been identified in this case.
Firefighters from the Montreal Fire Department (SIM) were called around 6:30 a.m. in connection with a burning restaurant. On the spot, they quickly mastered the blaze that had arisen in the establishment on Boulevard Henri-Bourassa, near Rue de Lille.
They also notice the presence of an incendiary object. The file was therefore transferred to the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM).
“The damage to the building is significant, but no one was injured,” said agent Véronique Comtois, spokesperson for the police force.
Investigators are currently heading to analyze the scene.
Boulevard Henri-Bourassa is currently closed between rue de Lille and rue Parthenais.
