World Hockey Championship | Great Britain relegated after defeat to Norway

(Prague) Norway beat Great Britain 5-2 on Monday in a Group A duel at the World Hockey Championship.


Great Britain, bottom of its group, still has no points with one match remaining in the preliminary round. The country was relegated after just one year among the elite of world hockey.

For its part, Sweden defeated France 3-1 to maintain its perfect record and secure first place in its group.

Lucas Raymond scored and added an assist in the victory. Defenseman Erik Karlsson scored his fourth goal of the tournament, on the power play, and Andre Burakovsky completed the scoring into an empty net.

Sweden now has six wins in six matches in Group B.

Charles Bertrand hit the target for France.

Later on Monday, Kazakhstan and Poland will face off in a clash between the bottom two teams in Group B, while Finland needs a win against Denmark to increase its chances of making the quarter-final round .
