against Sète, Stade Lavallois secures its place as leader and looks calmly to the future

A victory by the smallest of brands, but a victory nonetheless! Stade Lavallois beat Sète this Friday evening, for the 26th day of National. A goal from Kader N’Chobi on a big ball from the Hérault goalkeeper with a defender (37 ‘). The evening opponent had however proved dangerous from the 10th minute with a strike from Mané in the 5.50 meters, stopped by Maxime Hautbois with a beautiful headline.

In the second period, the game fell in intensity. A bitter fight ensued and Laval retreated. But without giving in this time, unlike what happened in Châteauroux. “This victory gives a little more flavor to the point we took on Monday. That’s what I told the players. We took time to digest Châteauroux, but that’s four points in the week and that was the goal. So certainly _it’s a narrow victory, but at the end of the season that’s no longer the problem. You have to win the games_. We put all our energy into it and we did our best to attack whenever possible. We stayed under the threat of an equalizer all the time, but we were very strong defensively“rejoices coach Olivier Frapolli.

N’Chobi confirms

The 4,369 spectators were smiling at the end of the match, Kader N’Chobi also, scorer with a lobbed shot after a disagreement between the Sète goalkeeper and a defender. Rarely starting in the first part of the season, Kader N’Chobi has been one of the strong men of the Mayenne squad since January. No more awkward actions in front. Its trigger? It took place on January 21 against Villefranche (2-1) with a double.

The center-forward has since started every game. “Before I was a little more stressed. And frankly I’ll tell you the truth: I was afraid to find myself alone in front of the goal. But it’s true, I’m not going to lie to you (laughs). And by dint of hard work, by dint of perseverance… hard work always pays” confides Kader N’Chobi. Alongside Geoffrey Durbant, the other Tango striker, Kader N’Chobi and his small size (1m77) have been able to find a real understanding. “It’s easier for me to circle around Geoffray who tends to deflect balls. I bring depth and I like contacts, duels” he explains.

Kader N’Chobi is one goal away from his National record: eight as at Cholet last year. However, the attacker swears that he has no personal goal. “Frankly, I don’t have that in mind. Not even the bar of ten goals. I don’t wake up in the morning telling myself that I have to score as many goals as possible because otherwise I have even more pressure on the pitch“says the centre-forward.

In the standings Laval is first with 52 points, five lengths ahead of Concarneau who are playing a very big match this Monday evening against Châteauroux (8:45 p.m.). The next meeting of the Mayennes will take place on Monday March 28 in Bourg-en-Bresse.
