After the attempted assassination of Donald Trump, “things are not going well” for Joe Biden in the polls, his voters regret

While Donald Trump was sworn in at the Republican convention on Monday, Joe Biden is plummeting in the polls, particularly in key states like Pennsylvania, where young Democrats have a hard time imagining him staying in the White House.

He finds himself in trouble in states where he absolutely must win. Joe Biden is struggling to revive his campaign, especially since his failed debate on June 27 and after the assassination attempt on his Republican opponent that seems to benefit Donald Trump.

Polls show the current president trailing his predecessor in Pennsylvania, a swing state that is crucial to Joe Biden’s reelection hopes. A stroll through a trendy bar in Philadelphia’s bohemian Fishtown neighborhood helps explain this drop in popularity: “This is a young, hipster neighborhood.”says Marissa, 27.

The bar, frequented by young people, is located on a street that supports the democratic cause, where street art and art galleries rub shoulders. “Even before this attack, things were not going well for Joe Biden, confirms Marissa. When he gave speeches or interviews, he stumbled over his words, he seemed senile and old. We were not very confident and now, after what happened, we Democrats feel that Donald Trump is going to win the election because of what happened. Because it is a sign of bravery, he took a bullet for the United States!”

The former president may have been the victim of an assassination attempt, but he is still dangerous for democracy and women’s rights, according to Aliyah, a young 18-year-old voter who is going to vote for the first time. And she is having a hard time finding a candidate who resembles her.

Beyond the personality of the Democratic president, it is his foreign policy that poses a problem for him. “Honestly, it’s just that Joe Biden is turning a blind eye to the genocide that’s going on in Gaza. We’re continuing to deliver – millions of dollars worth – of weapons to someone who’s continuing to massacre a people, people who are trapped and it’s totally incomprehensible to me.”explains the young woman.

His policies and his mistakes in the face of a Donald Trump in great shape raise fears of a defeat for Joe Biden in this state of Pennsylvania which gave him victory four years ago.
