“They say that a minister shuts his mouth. So a former minister can reopen it.” In an interview with Parisianpublished on Saturday February 17, the former government spokesperson, Olivier Véran, who has regained his duties as a deputy, assures that he intends to take advantage of “his freedom of speech” found to weigh on the center-left.

“I join Parliament with complete freedom of speech and action, believes the former minister. I want to rediscover the spontaneity that allowed me to move the lines when I was a deputy.” “I want to speak to those of our fellow citizens whose hearts still beat on the left and who feel stateless: neither Mélenchonistes, nor more totally Macronists”, he continues.

“This humanist, secular, republican, Europhile center-left, we failed to achieve an absolute majority, but knows how to mobilize each time to block the National Rally.”

“We must not wait for a second round to remind us that they trusted us (…) This means being respectful in the choice of words we use, re-examining ourselves when we become upset by our reforms”, he explains. MP Renaissance refuses to “trivialize” the RN, that he “not consider in the republican arc”. A position that contrasts with that of the Prime Minister. “I consider that the Republican arc is the Hemicycle”had defended Gabriel Attal, in comments reported at the beginning of February by The world.

Asked about his ouster from the government, the former government spokesperson says he is not “of those who greet [les] choice [d’Emmanuel Macron] when they go my way and deplore them when they don’t.” The former Minister of Health, a neurologist by profession, adds that he will “take the blouse back on one day a week at the same time as [son] mandate”.
