The “À votre care” association travels in Finistère and Loire-Atlantique with a medical truck. It carries out 4,000 consultations per year with volunteer doctors.

In Loire-Atlantique and Finistère, a traveling medical truck travels the roads. In Derval (Loire-Atlantique), he stops at the Place de l’Église for two hours of anonymous, no-appointment and free consultations. “Here, there is a bit of a shortage at the dentist level”, laments Chloé Degrault, a patient who had an annual check-up. Each year, the association carries out 4,000 consultations, health check-ups and visual screenings.

Prevention to unclog offices

Half of the patients are redirected to a specialist by a volunteer doctor. Disease prevention also involves the plate. A nutritionist explains the basic dietary rules for good health. These tips aim to relieve congestion in medical practices. “By taking people earlier, (…) we could perhaps provide less care and therefore respond to the problem of medical deserts”assures Nicolas Blouin, director of the association “À votre care”.
