The Paris police headquarters will establish a security perimeter around the Champs-Élysées from 11 a.m. this Saturday, December 18 and until 6 a.m. this Sunday due to the final of the 2021 Arab Football Cup between Algeria and Tunisia. The match will start at 4 p.m. this Saturday.
The prefectural decree prohibited “the presence of people claiming to be supporters of football teams from Algeria, Egypt, Qatar and Tunisia or behaving as such within the perimeter delimited by the following routes which are included therein “:

The police headquarters justify this measure by the “overflows during previous matches of this cup, during which many football supporters gathered on the avenue des Champs-Élysées, invading the traffic lanes and sending projectiles, smoke and mortars in the direction of the police” .
