A so-called “rapid intervention” CRS company will soon be based in Nantes. It is one of 11 new mobile force units which were announced by the Minister of the Interior, Gérald Darmanin, as part of the creation of 8,500 additional positions of police and gendarmes within 5 years.
Mobilizable in less than 15 minutes to intervene anywhere in France
This unit will operate on the same model as the CRS 8, based in Paris, and specialized in urban violence. That is to say that the 200 men who compose it can be deployed very quickly anywhere in France to maintain and restore public order, particularly during Paris Olympic Games 2024. They can be mobilized 7 days a week, 24 hours a day and in less than 15 minutes.
