The second generation of this iconic livery offered in the country will thus be entitled to a turbocharged 2.0L four-cylinder producing 315 hp and 310 lb-ft.

These are gains of 9 hp and 15 lb-ft respectively compared to its predecessor, thanks to a reworked turbocharger, a less restrictive air intake and a redesigned exhaust equipped with a valve. It remains coupled only to a six-speed manual transmission with automated speed synchronization that sends torque to the front wheels.

Aware that its customers want to take advantage of the performance of its mount on the track, Honda has also looked into cooling this hot-blooded mechanism with larger openings cut into the front bumper. The radiator has been enlarged, as has its fan. To ensure stability in sporty driving, the wheelbase has been lengthened slightly by 35mm, as have its front and rear tracks (+26mm/+19mm).

We will have an idea of the price range closer to its launch. This Type R should logically retail for around $45,000.
