A promising return to humor 2024

A big comeback

The coming months will be marked by the great return to the stage of several renowned comedians, starting with the highly anticipated one of Mike Ward. Five years later Blackthe king of trashy humor will be in residence all winter at Club Soda with Modesthis sixth one man show in career.

At the helm since 2015 Listening, the most listened to podcast in Quebec, Mike Ward is today at the height of his glory. And as proof: its shows are all sold out until spring. There are only a few places left for his visit to Quebec on 1er and April 2, at the Albert-Rousseau Hall. He will then return to Montreal for a long series of shows at Club Soda, but those who don’t yet have tickets should act quickly.

Among the other highly anticipated shows this winter return to school is that of Louis Morissette, who took everyone by surprise this fall by announcing that he was going to return to the stage. With his son Justin as the opening act, the ex-Mec Comedic will be at the Cinquième Salle at Place des Arts on March 28, 29 and 30.

Second lap

Coincidence or not, many comedians will present their second career solo show in 2024. Among them : Mehdi Bousaidanwho, after spending the fall testing his equipment in France, is back here with his new solo, Sheep. He will be at the Cinquième Salle at Place des Arts on January 26.

Then on March 27, at the Salle Maisonneuve, it will be the turn of Katherine Levac to present his second one-woman show, The man of my life, after several months of running through Quebec and his native Ontario. We obviously sense a sarcastic tone in the title of this new show, which promises to be just that.

His friend Rosalie Vaillancourt vies with her for the title of most provocative show. Recently becoming a mother, the 31-year-old comedian titled her new solo MILF, an ironic nod to this XXX category which evokes the cult of women of a certain age. A rather offbeat choice, ultimately reflecting the style of Rosalie Vaillancourt on stage. The media premiere of MILF will take place in Montreal on April 9, at the Gesù, and on April 23 in Quebec, at the Salle Albert-Rousseau.

Guillaume Pineault is also ready to embark on the adventure of a second solo show. He will officially kick off his tour Vulnerable on March 19, at the Olympia.

Some newcomers

Born to Turkish parents, but raised in the suburbs of Montreal, Sinem Kara has fun with cultural differences in his first one-woman show, which she will present on March 12 at the Salle Claude-Léveillé at Place des Arts. A real beast of the stage, the one who has been rolling for several years in bars and on the Internet will undoubtedly see her career explode in 2024.

Another rising comedy star to watch: Alphe Gagnewho opened for Louis-José Houde, is beginning the running-in of his first show this winter, 1/16. He will be at Place des Arts on February 6.

Some well-known personalities will try their luck in humor at the start of the year, even if the stand-up is not their first career. February 28 will be a major premiere day for the author David Goudreault. He will present at Place des Arts On the sidelines of text, a show combining humor, poetry and music for which he worked with none other than Richard Séguin and Mariana Mazza.

Alexandre Champagnewhich we knew thanks to the blog Three times per day, will also try his luck in humor. Finally, the hilarious drag queen Mona from Grenoblewho won the last season of Big Brother Celebritieswill be on tour across Quebec this winter with Window dressing.

Old drivers

Some experienced comedians will also be there this winter. Two years after the success of Quebecois tabarnak, Adib Alkhalidey returns to the charge with Of the whores and thieves, a show for which he will be in training everywhere this winter before returning to present it in Montreal, at Place des Arts, at the end of May.

Clearly, there is always a demand for more cerebral humor, even sometimes political. Besides Adib Alkhalidey, Louis T. will also be in training this winter for his new show, Alpha male. We will have to wait until October for the media premiere.

Mario Jeanhe will present his new one man show across the province in the coming months. Imperfect happiness… and other tutti quanti of life… is his seventh career show.

And always surprises

There are returns that we expected less than others. Best known in recent years for his role as singer and coach on the show The voice, Marc Dupre will return to his first loves with Oh come on !a comedy show with which he will tour Quebec starting in January.

Separated for almost 20 years, Patricia Paquin and his ex Matthew Gratton will reconnect on stage for The EXseparables, an astonishing project with which they will be running from May for a premiere in the fall.
