After a break imposed by the pandemic, Laurence Lafond-Beaulne and Camille Poliquin wanted to reconnect, with each other, but also with “the depths of the human heart”, we explain in a press release announcing the release of the scrapbook. The song Movieswritten during a stay in Los Angeles, refers to the dilemma between complying with the desire of the other or remaining faithful to oneself in a relationship. Movies is the first song from Milk & Bone where the guitar replaces the keyboard.
The duo’s third album marks a pop shift as the Montrealers explore themes of love, nostalgia and heartbreak. Chrysalism is a term referring to the calm experienced when one is sheltered indoors during a storm. For this new era in the Milk & Bone universe, the singer-songwriter duo have been aided by Los Angeles-based composer Micah Jasper.
” Chrysalism is a poignant reflection on what it is to grow and discover yourself,” the press release reads. The new excerpt follows two pieces already unveiled earlier this year, Bigger Love and Borders.
