A man was found lifeless Monday morning after having apparently been electrocuted on a Montreal metro track.
The incident led to an interruption of service on the Orange Line for almost an hour.
According to initial information, a man walked on the track between Beaubien and Rosemont stations before being electrocuted.
The Montreal City Police Service (SVPM) must determine whether it was an accidental death or a voluntary act. An investigation has been opened and witnesses should be interviewed.
The identity of the victim is not known at this time. “We assume that it was a person experiencing homelessness,” indicates Sabrina Gauthier, spokesperson for the SPVM.
Service resumed shortly before 8 a.m. between the Berri-UQAM and Henri-Bourassa stations.
