A 23-year-old young man was sentenced to 18 months in prison, including one year, by the Le Mans criminal court for throwing firecrackers in the town hall of Challes (Sarthe), indicates France Bleu Maine, Friday March 8. He is also banned from appearing in Challes for five years.

“I would like to apologize to the elected officials. I was alone at home, I was bored. Often, I reflect after the actions”, he explained to the audience. The young man claimed to have no particular dispute with the people he targeted.

On February 29, he threw firecrackers in the Challes town hall while around ten elected officials were meeting in the municipal council. His action had caused panic, three elected officials had jumped out of the window. A municipal councilor was seriously injured.
