For a day on the Champs-Elysées in Paris, the avenue will be transformed, Sunday, June 4, into an open-air school room. The giant dictation could enter the record books.
Sunday, June 4 in the morning, the avenue des Champs-Elysées (Paris) looks like a giant class. 5,000 people will participate in the largest dictation in the world under the gaze of the curious. “I will try to do it at side with my pen and see what happens”, says a local. Thimeo, he made the express trip from Toulouse (Haute-Garonne) to participate. He’s aiming for the top 10. “I’ll see how it goes with all the participants”he says.
Objective ? Guinness Book
From 7 o’clock in the morning, the entire organization team was on deck to prepare the three 20-minute dictations that will follow one another. “The objective is not to reconcile them, but to make them love, learn or tame spelling”, specifies Antoine Jamet, presidenttooth of the Champs-Elysées committee. The goal is to register the record in the Guinness Book. To avoid cheating, a team will be deployed to monitor.
