In reality, this job offer is false. According to state services, there has been no keeper at La Jument for more than 30 years, the lighthouse having been automated since 1991. In the TikTok video, we can clearly see a lighthouse keeper in the middle of the storm. But this iconic photo actually dates from December 1989. In addition, when they were active, the civil servants responsible for the lighting guiding the ships received around 2,000 euros net per month. But now, all French lighthouses are automated.
