He arrived with great fanfare in an aircraft of the French Republic. The Ukrainian president has asked for help from the Elysée for his trip and his meetings in Japan. He first met his English, German and French allies in the presence of Emmanuel Macron. The latter claims the success of this surprise visit. “We will discuss it but I really think that your presence can change the game”, said Emmanuel Macron to the Ukrainian president. He came with one objective: to expand his support outside the West, particularly with India and Brazil. This Saturday, May 20, he had an interview with the head of the Indian government. The latter had so far refused to condemn the Russian invasion.
