Breton clubs were spoiled by the draw for the Round of 16 in the Coupe de France. The four qualified, Brest, Rennes, Vitré and Vannes know their opponents, after the draw made in the wake of the Brest qualification against Dinan-Léhon after an endless penalty shootout.
The jackpot for Vannes
And it was the OC Vannes that hit the jackpot. National 2 players will face the winner of the match between Feignies-Aulnoye (N3) and PSG. Unless there is a historic accident for the Parisians, the Vannetais will therefore be able to receive PSG and its constellation of stars at the Rabine stadium on January 2 or 3.
The other amateur club still in the running, AS Vitré, will host FC Nantes. A not insignificant match for the Vitréens, for Willy Barru and Eliott Sorin in particular, who trained at Stade Rennais, and who grew up in the rivalry between Rennes and Nantes. Two years ago, the two teams had already met in the quarterfinals of the competition. Nantes had won.
Stade Brestois, qualified after a historic penalty shoot-out against Dinan-Léhon, will welcome the Girondins de Bordeaux at the Francis Le Blé stadium.
Stade Rennais will travel to Nancy, last in Ligue 2, the former club of Rennes president Nicolas Holveck.
