The ecological film “The Crusade”, directed by Louis Garrel with Lætitia Casta, will be released in theaters on Wednesday 22 December. It is the story of a couple overwhelmed by the environmental cause married by their big boy.

It’s a fiction, where a child from a good, ultra-determined family comes together to save the planet, just that. “There was like that, a way of making a very current film, almost live, which happens to be a historic moment”, explains actor and director Louis Garrel. And that’s how Abel and Marianne’s son sells their best stuff to finance his mega ecological project.

This children’s crusade against global warming was blown to actor-director Louis Garrel by his deceased friend, screenwriter Jean-Claude Carrière. A green fable inspired by the young Swedish activist Greta Thunberg. “It makes people feel guilty and at the same time, those who feel committed can recognize themselves in it, those who are not can also recognize themselves”, says actress Laetitia Casta. “The crusade”, a well-targeted comedy, well put together, which will make young and old alike think.
