For the Pentecost weekend, many pharmacists are calling for a strike. They are demanding a financial increase and warning of drug shortages.
A guards’ strike is organized by pharmacists’ unions throughout France for the Pentecost weekend. The objective: to draw attention to the challenges and dangers facing the profession, but also to defend access to care. Since the start of 2024, 46 pharmacies have closed.
Pharmacists also intend to challenge the population and the public authorities on drug shortages and the reform of the 3rd cycle of pharmacy studies. They also wish to warn against a bill aimed at promoting the sale of medicines on the internet. This weekend, certain pharmacies will still be requisitioned by the prefectures to meet demand. A strike notice has been filed for May 30, with demonstrations planned throughout the country.
