In the Kharkiv region of Ukraine, Moscow claims the capture of 12 villages in the space of a week. According to kyiv, Russian forces are destroying the city of Volchansk.

Lyptsi (Ukraine) is 35 kilometers north of Kharkiv. In this village, fighting took place between Russians and Ukrainians. On site, bridges were destroyed or even French tanks used by the Ukrainian army. The Ukrainian soldiers know this: by protecting Lyptsi, they are preventing the Russians from approaching the city of Kharkiv, which is highly symbolic for them. “This is my city, the first capital of Ukraine, the city of millions of people”explains Repin, a Ukrainian soldier.

A Russian offensive surprised the Ukrainian army: in one week, the Russian army declared having taken 12 localities in the region. During his trip to China, Vladimir Putin nevertheless affirmed that this offensive was not aimed at taking the city of Kharkiv: according to him, his army was only responding to Ukrainian strikes.
